This is one of many flyers favorite Sky Clubs in Atlanta. It seems less crowded to me plus, now and then, I often find one of my favorite Atlanta based bloggers in the club from time to time.

You can get in with a number of AMEX cards or, if you are a Skyteam elite plus status and are on a coach or anyone on a business class international departing (or connecting) ticket, you can also get in free.

Just one floor up from concourse level and you are there. Maybe having to go down the tiny hall makes this harder to find for some – who knows. I am happy less find their way to this club.

You still have to go through a set of glass doors once you exit the elevators, that is, turn left and you are there.

There is a separate reception and service desk in this club. This really can be a very nice feature as this way you don’t have to wait to check in, that is, like when the same folks who check people in are busy helping flyers with other issues.

I like where Delta has placed a large bank of monitors to check before you exit. You can peek when you enter and on the way out. Clean and nice.

Like in most clubs there is a work room, but it is somewhat smallish and gives you a semi-private laptop work area.

I really thought about holding off on this review as there are big changes on the way for this club as you can see. I think a look now is still worthwhile.

delta sky club atlanta ATL T concourse review RenesPoints blog (7)

As you can see above, the club for now is just one big room. It was two, but that second half is under construction.

This was a nice large area that was away from much of the rest of the club and now soon to be a cafe and food area.

You have a smaller full service bar and food area, for now, next to that.

I am showing the breakfast choices but if you look at the other club reviews other than E & F you will get an idea of what is in store the rest of the day. I was told this club will not get the expanded food choices E & F currently have.

Across from the bar are more food choices as with limited space during construction they are a bit spread out.

Then from the back of the club you get a good view of the current entire club. You see the customer service counter in the back ground and to the left the rest rooms.

They have been updated to the modern look some love and some don’t really care for. I can wash my hands so I like it just fine.

As with the rest of the clubs there are newspapers and other reading material for those who want something for on-board.

Plus a very nice view if it happens to be a nice day and you are an AVgeek like me.

The club “space” has always been nice. I like this club but as you can see it is dated and needs a refresh and it is getting it. I think, once this club is totally new, I will call this review the OLD club T review and just put a new post for the NEW club T refreshed! Either way, enjoy the T club if you have time for a visit – René

Delta’s “meh” reaction to Alaska Boardroom dump & why $59 Skyclub fee is just “bat crazy”!

Let’s start this one with the news about Delta dumping the friendly, but hard to find, 24 hour all you can visit pass from the Sky Club lineup. You see before, you could, for $50 (see photo below), get a pass and come and go all you like to as many clubs as you like for a day. And not just the day you travel but even the next day if your visit fell inside … Continue reading

DeltaONE Sky Club ATL pre-flight dining & drink choices (a work in progress at best).

I promise to get to my review of my last round trip to Sweden posted soon (including Virgin Atlantic upper class) but for now I wanted to at least give you my thoughts on the new DeltaONE seat pre-flight dining option at the “F” Sky Club in Atlanta. When you are flying DeltaONE a.k.a. business class or the old business elite seats you are, when you check in at the Sky Club, handed one of … Continue reading

The end of #SkunkyGate – Welcome “The Bar” at the Delta Sky Club.

As I blogged about a few weeks ago, changes are happening in the Skyclubs and this is a good thing. Once Delta dumped free beer, well other than SkunkyBeer, it marked a slow and steady decline in quality of offerings in the clubs and then on 1MAY14 the ridiculous $29 upcharge to bring a guest into the clubs even if you had the high end Delta AMEX Reserve card or the non-Delta AMEX Platinum card. … Continue reading

Are Skyclubs too expensive vs other airport choices like Gorden Biersch DTW?

$29 to bring my wife into a $kyPub (i.e. Skyclub) is just CRAZY! Delta really tossed AMEX under the bus with the high end Delta Reserve card by cutting the perk of being able to bring a guest or your family into the club last May 1st. I have a feeling it has cost AMEX membership in the card. My fix, as you can see, is by simply getting my Lisa an add-on non-Delta Platinum … Continue reading

New Skyclub food options CONFIRMED: See Our Fresh New Menu And Nutritional Info!

Well, as I blogged about the other day we now have confirmation of what is coming at least as far as food goes. I had a GM with Delta tip us off that per an internal memo they were about to go LIVE and now we see on Delta.com that this is true! Here is what we can expect for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner – yes, Dinner in the Skyclub! Delta Sky Club is … Continue reading

How much longer to wait on Skyclub upgrade – Fall begins on Tuesday, September 23!

Many of us Skyclub members got the above email a while back with Delta promising us that “late this summer” we could expect to see the test items “we members enjoyed most” would be back. Well, just how does one define late summer. Since fall begins in a little over 40 days from now, I personally think we are late into summer at this point. Also, there has been scuttlebutt from the rumor mill … Continue reading

The Delta phone app upgrade – a way to fight the lounge “dragons”!

Just a quick update that I noticed today logging in to my updated (2.6.1) Android “Fly Delta” phone app that my digital Skyclub card now shows if you have the individual or the executive membership. This can be very handy if you are a Diamond Medallion and happen to run into a Skyclub door rep (AKA dragons guarding the gate) who wants to charge you $29.00 for your +1’s. We do have executive access … Continue reading

100,000 Skybonus points for Skyclub membership is now available! Best point value?

I got an email the other day with the reminder of the MQD spend requirement to remain year after year a member of the Skybonus program. Yes, it is $5000 and I cleared that just by a hair for last year I am happy to say. This year, it will be close once again! Anyway, Delta has loaded what may now be one of the best values for Skybonus points. Keep in mind as … Continue reading

Today begins NO +1’s into the Skyclub – will they be empty & what you can do!

So today we enjoy the “enhanced” Skyclubs; the feeling of emptiness and privacy since anyone with a Delta Reserve personal or business travel card can only be joined by their +1 for a $29 fee that I think few are willing to pay that much. Same goes for holders of the non-Delta Platinum membership rewards travel cards – only you, no guests or family may join you. Not happy about this? What can you … Continue reading

…the end to the Skyclub upgrades is at hand ☹ April 13th, 2014!

Yes, Sunday will be a very sad day; it will mark the end of the “test” period for all the nummy upgrades to the Skyclubs we have been seeing as of late. Like: The “fresh” push a button pancakes (yeah not so great) but the rest I do like. The Sandwiches are OK and the Chili was good (just not for those flying with me). Oh, the Garretts popcorn is great and the Chair massage … Continue reading
