As you are reading this I should be sitting the Crown Room in Amsterdam finishing up my IST mileage run and I will have soon picked up 12,000+ MQM’s and almost 25,000 Skymiles! I am still on track to make Diamond Medallion by the 1st of June!
I paid for this run with a bump voucher and some of my own money. I did not have to reposition for this run but will for others later on in May. I don’t want to have to pay for those flights and want to earn MQM’s if I can rather than use Skymiles to get to my start city. So, I have cards to do that:
- 1) US BANK Flex Perks card
- 2) Barclaycard Arrival™ World MasterCard®
- 3) Capital One Venture card
- 4) Another card (name it) that you can buy Delta tickets with and earn MQM’s!
All of these will give you points that you can spend just like cash as far as Delta is concerned and earn MQM’s and Skymiles by flying. That is nice! The T&C for each week’s giveaway is posted in week one HERE. Please keep in mind I am 6hrs ahead of you so I will approve your comments as I can and when I am back on land! So to win today’s swag, the below iGo headset, tell me of these, the one you like the best; if the perks are better for one or the other tell me that too! – René

I love my Delta Amex. It is the go to card for me.
Love Swag Saturdays! I’d like iGo’s Noise Canceling headphones
I would go with the Venture card from this list, as its the only one that I currently have.
I think the Delta AMEX card. It is easier for me to keep track of miles than cash or points on those other cards. My sophistication level is low.
flex perks wins!
Dont have the other 2……..but the US Bank card is exactly what it says it is………….flexibility is key to travel………..
Capital One Venture card – I like that they give 2% on all purchases – no remembering which category gives bonuses!

I’m a fan of the flex perks card.
I don’t have any of them. I have a regular CapOne which was upgraded during a promotion to get extra points but unless you redeem only for air travel the payback is terrible. Barclays sounds interesting. I might look into that one.
Capital One Venture – Having no foreign transaction fee is important to me.
capital one b/c of no foreign transaction fees
The Capital One card is nice for those times you don’t want to burn your miles.
Capital One, because it has no foreign exchange fees.

I have the flexperks and like it as long as I can find a ticket just below the award threshold.
I use Delta Reserve AmEx but am thinking about a Flexperks card later in the year.

I like my Platinum Delta Amex. The free companion voucher cancels out the annual cost and it has good benefits like insurance coverage and extended warranty.
Huge fan of the chase sapphire! Thanks for the giveaway Rene!

I can’t comment on any of those, but I am happy to hold a simple delta Amx gold card in my wallet since I mainly fly Delta but not always enough for status. The zone 1 boarding is actually quite useful for getting situated and never worrying about overhead space.
Delta Amex for sure!
Amex delta reserve card! Safe travels!
flexperks. haven’t tried the others
The flex points card works.

Delta Amex for me.
Plain old membersip rewards. The can be used at $0.01 per point to purchase tickets via AMEX travel (which is a venerable travel agency in itself), or the MRs can be used to top off any future Delta reward flight, if that is best for the situation.
.
With the AMEX Premier Rewards gold card we can earn 3 MRs per dollar on airline tickets (balance required in addition to MRs for the repositioning or or mileage run) or the Platinum charge card to get lounge access at Skyclubs globally and the $200 airline credit can be used to buy Delta giftcards to also offset the positioning flight. Oh and did I mention the Plat card comes with SPG Gold status to receive SPG points for all the paid flights? 🙂
.
Have a great trip, Rene, and say Hi to Holland for us!
CSP as usual!

Delta Platinum Amex
I like the Delta AMEX Platinum. Easier to track miles.By the way, AMS is one of my favorite airports. The KLM Lounge that overlooks OUR Delta planes is one of the nicest.

US Bank Flexpoints (20,000 points for a ticket up to $400 plus it is looked upon by airlines as a cash ticket, so miles are earned and perks, such as upgrading, are honored, make this card great! Plus, 3 points per dollar for donations really help to stack up the points)
