I got a smile today when I logged in to my SPG account as my first ever Crossover Rewards that I blogged about on the 27th of last month have just posted as you can see above. Some did not think I would get these points as reader RY commented:

“Just a FYI- You wont earn miles/points for any flights or stays that were booked before registering so if you have a flight on the 1st you already paid for, looks like you’re out of luck. – RY”

So good news for all you who DID in fact jump in right away and register. If you have not already done so (and are Medallion or SPG elite), you are missing out on SPG points for each dollar you spend on Delta flights. It is so nice to get more SPG points that I can spend on hotel nights or for every 20,000 SPG I send over to Delta, I end up with 25,000 Skymiles! – René

  1. Totally confused about how they calculated the reward points. I had a round trip on Delta, 1st leg on Feb.27 and 2nd leg on Mar.3. The fare was $214.00 with $688.40 tax ($902.40 total). Today I found 335 starpoints posted. Any idea how they got this number? I expected to get 214 points or even 214/2=107 since the 1st leg was before Mar.1

  2. Any idea what the 5, 20, and 185 SPG points represent? Dollars spend on ticket and on-board expenses?

  3. When I signed up the terms stated rewards would be issued for flights starting March 1st regardless of when the booking was made. So you receiving rewards would be entirely expected.

  4. What site did you use to book the delta flight? I have an upcoming flight that I booked on the Amex travel site. I’m wondering if that counts as a 3rd party booking site which exludes you from getting the SPG points.

  5. How long did it take for these points to post for DL to SPG? My first flight after the launch was on 3/4 and have been checking my SPG account for DL-related activity, nothing yet. SPG stays for 3/2, 3/10 and 3/15 have posted to my Skymiles account, however, so at least there’s that.

  6. Interesting. My experience is reversed; SPG to DL all posted very quickly but nothing yet the other way around. I guess I’ll keep waiting for now!
