This week’s Rookie Wednesday touched on the programs that you can send points from to Delta and turn them into Skymiles. A reader e-mailed and pointed out you can also send over Diners Club points, but for now they are NOT taking new applications at all so I left that one off.

However, another reader asked me this week, is there one card that can do all of the below:

  • Be used to either earn Delta points or send points to Delta
  • Has   NO  foreign transaction fees
  • Gets you into the Delta Skyclubs

Well let’s see how much readers know. To win this week, a 1-Day Skyclub pass and 2 Delta Amenity coupons, you must answer correctly. Of the three cards below, all of them that do either earn Skymiles or can transfer to Delta, what ONE card has all of the above:

1) The Delta AMEX Reserve  personal  or  business  card?

or

2) The AMEX Platinum Membership Rewards  personal  or  business  card?

or

3) The SPG Starwood Preferred Guest  personal  or  business  card?

I will hold off on approving any comments until just before the drawing so you cannot just peak at the right answer (so the comments will all stay “pending”). As always, the rules for the SWAG Saturday are HERE! – René

  1. The Amex platinum rewards card is the only one that
does all 3 but for the price the Reserve shouldn’t have
    Exchange fees.

  2. 2) The AMEX Platinum Membership Rewards personal or business card (also the Amex Mercedes Benz Platinum)

  3. That would be the AMEX Platinum card, which gives Skyclub access, earns Membership rewards points that can be transferred to Delta, an has no foreign transaction fees.

The Delta Reserve card has foreign transaction fees, and the Starwood card has foreign transaction fees and no Skyclub access.

(A better third (invalid) choice might have been the Chase Ink Bold card – Ultimate reward points, no foreign transaction fees, and Lounge Club (but not Skyclub)access.

  4. The AMEX Platinum Membership Rewards personal card

    PS – I couldn’t find the rules

    thanks
    Karen

  5. The correct card is The AMEX Platinum Membership Rewards (personal or business card).

  6. 2) The AMEX Platinum Membership Rewards personal or business card

The other cards charge forex fee.

  7. The Amex Platinum card can be used for entry to the sky clubs, has no foreign transaction fees, and you can redeem membership rewards points for travel on Delta or transfer MR points to Sky Miles.

  8. Amex platinum cards do it all (though I WISH the SPG card didn’t have foreign transaction fees!).

  9. That would be

    2) The AMEX Platinum Membership Rewards personal or business card.

    Thank you for the contest.

  10. Amex platinum Membership Rewards! Awesome card, just wish they still did Delta transfer bonuses.
