Ben E. who says: “I will take 11 flights this year. I have the Delta Platinum American Express card.”

First of all congratulations Ben I will contact you soon plus you have a shot at the Silver Medallion status grand prize in July.

Now on to the numbers. What we see is very telling. Delta Points infrequent flyers tend to go for the GOLD Delta AMEX. There is much logic to this depending on what card you will need for your personal and business use for your yearly travel goals.

For the somewhat frequent flyer we see mostly Platinum Delta AMEX cards. This also is logical as for such a small fee you get a buy one get one free cert after year one. Plus, all the perks of the Gold and the chance to get a nice bit of MQM’s with spend.

But now to the frequent flyers. Again, here, almost a split between Platinum and Reserve cards. I would ask you in this category to look at the Reserve. For the money and the possible MQM’s, it is such a winner to me. If not, there is also sound logic staying with the Platinum card. The only thing I would say is the 6 who have the Gold in this group need to change to one of the other two! – Rene

  1. I am so glad you included the survey information. The chart you included offered great inside into what each type of traveler is carrying. Today is my first day as a PM as I reached it over the weekend (IST mileage run/long weekend). 🙂

  2. It would be interesting to know how many of us are 100+ flights a year.
