Best Credit Cards

Two weeks ago I had a combo Skyclub and GoGo pass and it proved very popular. So why not do it again and give you another shot at the combo SWAG! 🙂 This week, as every week, the rules can be found HERE. Be sure you comment before the winner is picked at some point Sunday afternoon.

As we all know you can NOT get a Chase card more than once (mostly). You can, when they come out with a “new” product, get the “same” card again as it really is not the same card, but a new card. This is much different from other banks that either have no time limit or a time limit you must wait before you get a card and can get a new card bonus again. Because of this, there are many Chase cards that I will always HOLD or keep and pay the annual fee (and plus I really like some cards too as you can see).

But then there was Lisa’s successful attempt at the 80,000 point Priority Club card and getting the bonus again after many years away from the card. Others have also after waiting a great many years also received the new card bonus again.

So to have a shot at this round, I want some feedback and feel free to comment with JUST your first name or a screen name if you would like to enter that way. I want to know if you have ever got a new card bonus more than once for the same Chase CONSUMER (or personal) card and if you did  HOW LONG  it was between cards apps and or closing of the old card. If you have ever done this please say so and what card it was like the   Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card  or  Chase Freedom®  or  Chase BA  . If not, you can just comment you have never had the same Chase card more than once for example and that will count as an entry. I thank you all in advance for the help! – René

  1. I have never had the same Chase card more than once, but I haven’t tried to double it up yet!

  2. Don’t have any experience unfortunately but patiently waiting on some “big” news coming next week according to blogger chatter to try!

  3. Never had a card more than once, but wish I could get that BA Visa over and over again!

  4. Never tried getting the same chase card twice since I’m quite new to the credit card game 🙂

  5. I haven’t tried to get the bonus twice on chase. I tried once with Barclays and was declined.

  6. I have never had the same Chase card more than once, but I really enjoy the ones I do have.

  7. I have only been “churning” for one year now so I have yet to attempt to get the same Chase card a second time. But I wish they would allow it with a wait period like some of the other banks do with their cards.

  8. I’ve never had a chase sapphire or other card but I got great bonus points on Cap One venture card for just $500 spend. Easy peasy.

  9. I have never had the same Chase card more than once!
And i like the sapphire card but don’t want to pay the annual fee!

  10. Not sure if this counts, but I recently (about 3 months ago) received both Chase Freedom and Chase Marriott Rewards cards. The time between applying was 3-6 weeks. When I activated the second card I was asked if I wanted to use just one and combine the two credit limits.

  11. Never have tried to get same Chase card twice but planning on dropping my Ink Cash in a couple months to prep for it again in future. Dropping it for the Plus.

  12. Thanks for the giveaways. Comment on Facebook and Twitter; I don’t like them either; I already spend to much time reading e-mail and blogs each day and can’t keepup; don’t need another drag on my time.

One more comment. I’ve been critical of Delta and have not like your “dear Delta” references esp with all the recent changes which are not pro-customer. However I recently tried and failed 3x to book a rewards ticket to Europe, finally having to call customer service. She helped me but disregarded my plea not to be charged because the booking system was broken as pointed our in many, many blogs. I sent a complaint to Delta asking for a refund or 15k SkyMiles. I received 3 e-mails thanking me and assuring me that they would strive to avoid similar penalty to future customers; I was also given a nice bunch of SkyMiles for my difficulties and report to Delta. I was impressed. Thanks Delta.

  13. I’ve never had luck getting multiple of the same card. Just multiple cards with same company.

  14. I have had two different Chase United Cards. One was before and the other after the merger so they were slightly different products.

  15. I don’t have any Chase card. I am a Delta Reserve exclusive or Hyatt Visa (if I have to!)

  16. I had the same Chase Marriott card twice within the same 12 month period and got 2 70K sign up bonuses. Took a call to the reconsideration line but I got it.

  17. It would be great win this as I could use it on my long distance flight in August= bwi to sea

  18. I haven’t done this before with Chase, but love your blog and saturday giveaways. Crossing my fingers!

  19. I haven’t tried as I’ve always read that it isn’t possible, so my answer is no. On the other hand, with BOA, it’s easy peasy. 🙂

  20. Wish I could help, but I’ve never had the same twice. I love my Priority Club card, though… got the 80k bonus last year, then used the free night in Sydney, plus got back 10% of the 200,000 points I burned travelling around Australia… and it comes with platinum status. No brainer card.

  21. No, I’ve never tried. I’m still too new to have run through all the good ones.

  22. I only have the Chase Hyatt card (does that even count?) and now I feel totally left out… 🙁

  23. Never had a Chase product more than once… There are still quite a few good ones I haven’t had yet.

  24. I have never had a chase card but as a sky miles newbie – I am learning a lot of info from your blog!

  25. I thought I did with Marriott but turns out the early one wasn’t Chase, so guess my answer is No.

  26. Never had the same Chase card more than one (only been playing the game for less than a year).

  27. I recently got the Sapphire card. My wife has recently qualified for both the sapphire and the Ink. SO as new cards we have not tried to cancel and redo. I am hoping to try applying for the bonus Ink card coming out next week,

  28. No, never had the same one twice. I have to admit I’m a newb at the whole churn game, but I’m learning!

  29. I have the Chase Mariott card now but will be applying for the Chase Hyatt card soon after I hit my spend threshold at the end of the month. I hope I get it!

  30. I don’t “recycle” my Chase cards. Personally, I think they belong in my wallet 24-7 (next to my per & biz D-Reserve Card). The Ink & Bold cards are too valuable to me to not have the benefits they carry for a 1 year…..

  31. had the southwest card 6+ times, but that was a few years ago before they started limiting chase cards to once per lifetime.

  32. I think its very generous of you to offer swag again. The SkyClub passes would be great to have.

I’ve only had one Chase Ink card before and that’s it.

  33. Nope, never got the same card more than once. Chase seems to be getting more and more strict.

  34. Not yet but I just started a new business with a new tax I.d. And want another ink card.

  35. Not as of yet, but wondering how this would work with Hyatt card as they have changed the terms/bonus since.

  36. I had the chase priority club visa, canceled then got the MP explorer visa & Sapphire visa.

  37. Never applied for a card from Chase. Probably should. But what’s the best one?

  38. I had a really unpleasant experience one time when I tried to get a Chase product. I was turned down–for no reason–can’t remember what I was applying for–probably one of those “6 months same as cash” deals.

The experience soured me on Chase and I vowed NEVER to do business with them. That was several years ago and I’m living happily Chase-free.

On the other hand, I have AMEX Platinum and Delta Amex Reserve. Pricey, yes, but I managed to make Platinum SkyMiles (although next year we’ll see what happens) and I learned that the Reserve Card at Platinum SkyMiles gets you upgraded five days out most of the time. This practice was confirmed by Delta rep not long ago. Reserve card holders apparently go at a higher level.

  39. I’ve never had the same Chase card more than once, but I will be trying that when churn time comes.

  40. I have never received any sign up/Annual dbl points with Chase. I was a card holder for years, but recently closed and went to AMEX Delta SkyMiles Platinum. I am interested in the changing scene on the MQMs and will follow for more opportunity to consider Chase Sapphire etc.

  41. wow I was considering trying but seems discouraging from all the cant be done posts..

  42. I don’t think I’ve ever tried to get the same Chase card twice, but I would be interested in getting the BA card again someday.

  43. Never got a bonus twice, but waiting to hear how your wife did with the PC card app. I have it and my wife cancelled hers about 3 1/2 yrs ago. So I’m hoping yours goes and you let us know.

  44. Got British Airways again after several years of being without. Now have close to 200,000 AVIOS and heading to Spain business class.

  45. I’ve only been doing this for a short amount of time so I haven’t even reached the stage of exploring a second card from Chase.

  46. I got the Chase Marriott card twice, but I did NOT get a free room the second time, as I did the first time I got the card. I called and they wouldn’t give it to me, even when I asked nicely, but I did get the 50,000 points, which are not worth that much these days. 🙁

  47. Never ever had a card from Chase more than once! However, I have 5 different Chase cards now.

  48. The only Chase card ever I had was a United Airlines one, many years ago. And I’m not a churner. I have just: Platinum Delta AmEx, Costco AmEx, and CapitalOne VISA.

  49. No, have never had the same card twice. At some point, want to get the higher grade Marriott card to get more points and free annual stay…

  50. I haven’t had same Chase card more than once. I have had several different chase products though- and have gotten the sign up bonus on each and every one.

  51. I have had the Priority Club card twice and yes I got the bonus points both times. Time between cards was a full 3 years.
