I really work hard to find good priced deals from Delta hubs and have found sound nice ones from non-hubs now-and-then but I do not hold a candle to Coke&Taco from FlyerTalk and the above deal is unreal sweet (I just don’t have not time to fly it! EDIT: Just had to jump on one for 21NOV! $140+ 20k FlexPerks points to position to LAS for 9k MQM is too sweet! 🙂 ).

But for all you DTW hub captives who always say – “gosh I wish it was out of DTW” – please stop and look. 5CPM is an OK price for a mileage run out of DTW right?

If you fly to LAS on the 5th with the red-eye out later on the 6th and same day turn back to LAS, overnight,  then fly home to DTW on the 7th. Yes you are talking 1 or 2 nights in hotels but a break on a MR is nice. You are picking up over 9,000 MQMs for under $500 all in (plus hotel cost or points for stays)!

Want to stay a few days in LAS or JAX, you can work this that way too. Book now, book fast, you have 24 hours to cancel with Delta – René

  1. Reverse route JAX-LAS also has good availability at this price. JAX is close enough to ATL I just might pick one or two of these up! (Also the route flies through ATL – I can ditch the last leg to JAX and go straight home.)

  2. looked this am JAX-LAS is same price but through ATL not MSP… not as many miles but still great… I live in JAX but can’t do a tues or weds so Ill sit this one out..

  3. Booked this JAX-LAS Nov14-16. Have a 8 hour layover in MSP coming and going. Any suggestions on what to see in that amount of time?
