delta points swag winner

First let’s get to this week’s SWAG winner and that is:

P T who says: “If I were planning a huge amount of travel next year I would definitely do runs for the status.”

Congratulations, PT! I will contact you soon to get your Solar Power Brick to you as well as your other SWAG!

my numbers for the year delta

Now on to my recap for the year of how I did. I did have a number of paid flights for the year, some in coach and some in 1st class. Over all, as you can see by my MQD numbers, while being almost a Delta Diamond twice over, I am NO DELTA360 HVC customer. But I am AOK with that.

How did my mileage run numbers end up for the year? They were big (I think I got a little carried away). I flew on just MRs, get this, 109,755! And, I spent a grand total, out of my own pocket for all those MQMs, $3,937. So my all in for the year MR cost per mile was just 3.6. Not just that, but from flights, issues and other accumulations due to my MRs I earned over 300,000 Skymiles worth at least $3,000 if I were to pay with miles at one cent each. Thus, my personal out of pocket cost for all this travel to earn over 100,000 MQMs was just $937! Not too bad if I may say so myself.

Did I have other costs? Sure, there was gas, food and such but I did not keep track of all of that. Even if that set me back say $1000 more it was well worth what I got back this year.

I will rollover 105,000+ MQMs into the 2014 earnings year and thus only need 20k more plus $25k spend on my Delta AMEX Reserve personal and business cards (add $900 in fees to my total for the year from those two) to be Diamond Medallion until FEB2016. That just works and I should have that goal reached by 01MARCH2014 at the latest if not sooner. Then I can turn my attention to just what I want to do for the 2015 flying year. 🙂 – René

  1. Wow! I can’t believe it. Thanks Rene! You’ve always been so good at answering my questions. I thought that that was prize enough. Still, I am excited about getting the power brick!
