northeast winter weather delta waver delta points blog

Oh Wednesday is NOT going to be a fun day in the Northeast! Delta has gone ahead and offered up FREE changes if you are flying into or out of:

  • Baltimore, MD (BWI)
  • Boston, MA (BOS)
  • Hartford, CT (BDL)
  • Newark, NJ (EWR)
  • Newburgh, NY (SWF)
  • New York, NY – Kennedy (JFK)
  • New York, NY – LaGuardia (LGA)
  • Philadelphia, PA (PHL)
  • Providence, RI (PVD)
  • Washington, DC – Reagan National (DCA)
  • Washington, DC – Dulles (IAD)
  • White Plains, NY (HPN)

Now I know this is not good news for most. However, if you are traveling THROUGH any of these you may look at changing to another Delta hub to get to some other city. Even if you have to add legs it is safer than getting stuck in an airport and keep in mind what Delta will and will not cover when it is a weather issue! – René

  2. I always drive for Tgiving and never had the guts to do it but always thought it would be cool to book some flights on Wednesday evening and take a bunch of bump incentives. Does that ever work? Looks like this time would have been the best case scenario for such a scheme.

  3. Since winter is here and already messing with our travel an interesting thing has been offered by Delta in Ohio.
I am curious if it is being offered in other states?
    See Below:
Earn 25,000 bonus miles for enrolling in Ohio Natural GasSM (ONG). Plus, earn one mile for every dollar of supplier gas charges paid on your monthly bill. ONG is the exclusive natural gas partner of the Delta SkyMiles program in Ohio. With simple plans and simple savings, you can count on ONG for hassle-free service year after year.

Enroll with ONG before this offer ends October 31, 2013.

    Limited to first 400 enrollments

I did sign up, the provider was $.01 lower per cubic foot. There is a cancellation penalty if cancelled in the first year.
I am now patiently waiting for my 25,000 mile bonus.
