First let me say congratulations to #44 Jim M who says:
“I’ve been going after more cash cards lately and the points I do have with Citi and Chase I use to purchase tickets. Mostly coach but with 500K+ Delta points I’ll be changing that right now lol.”
Thanks for answering both questions. The fun thing is you are not the only one to answer this way this Saturday. I will contact you soon to get your prize on the way to you.
Now to the results. I was going to break it down, in my head, in a simple Yes, No for question one and then Coach vs 1st/Business for part two. What I had not planned on was the great and wide variety of answers from readers. You all are really thinking. Here is what I mean.
Many of you are really concerned about the devaluations and lack of availability on all airlines and are focusing more and more on rewards cards like the Barclay’s Arrival to have the most flexibly with a very good return for using the card. But not everyone as so many still see the perk of premium cabins and that is just not as attainable with these types of cards. The mix was really interesting.
That also goes to question two. So many of you split up your answer. A bunch are just fine in coach or economy comfort and I was surprised by this. Then a huge chunk of you say coach is just fine domestic and all, but for international that is where you spend your points for the business cabin. Then there was lastly a big group who just said when you spend points it is for business class period.
You know all of this works and when I think of my spend I tend to, when I am on my own, always domestic book coach and hope for an upgrade. When with my Lisa it is generally, even domestic, business if the flight is longer that 2-ish hours. Internationally it is business class without discussion.
Thanks everyone for the great input. I am just about out of SWAG for now but have found a really neat item for next week. A Motorola Bluetooth keyboard with built in mouse / pointer that you can use with all Android and I think iPads too. I think it will be a great way to use your tablet like a laptop on the go (I got one for myself too it was so neat)! See you on Saturday – René
