Both of these cards LIVE in my wallet. The first, the Citi 100,000 point card deal (see the bottom of my list of cards) is only until spend is done then it will remain for AA club access but nothing more. I have no idea how long this offer will be live but it is a good one but notice the HUGE spend of $10,000 that is needed to get the points. However, other than buying AMEX gift cards, all the spend that works with Delta cards talked about in this post works fine.
Now the second card, the Barclay’s Arrival card. All reports are the minimum spend is about to go up from $1000 to $3000 to get the bonus points very soon (edit: confirmed now the min spend is $3000 to get bonus points – congrats to all who got card before the increase)! Some bloggers are saying this is NOT a reason to get the card. Hogwash! To me, the TREND is up up up on minimum spend and if you are planning on getting this card why not save yourself some spend to get the bonus points. The Arrival card is a winner especially when you can get, after spending and point rebates, an effective 6.6% on certain types of spending. That is unheard of and amazing and worth your time and effort. If you don’t have this card – I think you should consider it and NOT just because the minimum spend is about to go up! As I said, it lives in my wallet.
Also, if you are planning on picking up these two cards, maybe look at some AMEX cards or other cards in the same day that could wrap up a good day of new points cards! – René

We just signed up for the Arrival card in our latest churn! Glad we made it before the deal changed!
@Dan – thanks for supporting the blog!
I got the 60k version for the AA citi card. that 10k spend is quite a bit out of my reach. I tried to contact CITI to get the newer deal, they told me to fax them the promo. Lol. I think I’ll stick with the 5k spend. Not bad either 😀
@Alex – I would fax and try to get to match with your current spend. What is a little time to get extra points?
