Wait have your lost your mind? 6.8CPM is a great 1st class MR not a COACH MR. Yeah yeah hang on and look at the number 1st then why you should at least look at this:

Cost ~$592

8743+MQMs at 6.8cpm (more if other routes)

Bookable on Delta.com

DM yields 19,672 Skymiles per CWSI.net!

Now my Scandinavia sales pitch! You are talking Thursday and Friday off work yes. But, you are getting most of two days in Oslo an amazing city to visit. You are pulling in a boat load of Skymiles as a DM, PM or GM medallion that even at 1 cpm value could bring it down as low as $395 net cost or 4.5CPM. Want to stay for a week? The flexible dates show you can do that too and travel around the area. September is still a very nice time to visit Scandinavia and the lobsters are in season 🙂

Other bits. You can get higher yields going in/out of NYC co-terminals but you may NOT want to do that so be careful. Also, Delta.com does tend to offer up the airport south of OSL (ie TRF) so be CAREFUL when booking unless you want that airport for your arrival/return.

  1. Okay, this one is a little desperate, Rene… 6.8cpm? And to one of the most expensive countries in the world, driving up costs even further?

Why not highlight something like ORD-BOM/DEL in November, which can be routed to achieve 3.6cpm, >24,000 MQM and 54K RDM.

All the arguments you’ve made for OSL apply to every mileage run – they just work about twice as well for the example I’ve given. They certainly don’t justify 6.8cpm under the heading “mileage run.”

    • @John – hey, it is a few days in Scandinavia and out of NYC it is a good value for a mostly weekend run (you can leave LATE Thursday and only take one day off work Friday if you check flights). Notice I did say vacation run in the heading btw. Plus, I think, flying from NYC to ORD will put a dent in your 3.6cpm?

Please share how I can get 24,000 MQM-plus for 0.36 per mile. 48859michigan-at-gmail-dot-com

  3. Booked this for late September a couple of weeks ago for 526 JFK/Bergen/JFK. Fly Arrive Bergen Immediately board my first ever Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt to visit friends for three nights, then FRA to OSL on LH where I will pick up the scenic fjord train back to Bergen, Then two full days to check out Bergen and the fjord country. For 730 total I get to visit two countries and pop my Lufthansa cherry. I’ve already got my Miles and More card. RT JFK-FRA is never less than 870. Such a deal. And I’m 1 RT TATL away from my final year as a GM (2015-6).
