swag saturday 54 giveaway

It is the 1st day of summer! Yeah! I cannot wait to spend the summer in the air on Delta jets as well as other airlines for a change (is that cheating on Delta?) and blog about the experiences.

First let’s get the technical stuff about SWAG Saturday out of the way. The rules are HERE and do not change from week to week so be sure and look at them. The only change will be the drawing will be held at some point during the day on Friday the 27th this week.

Then on to a very simple request from you for a shot via to win the $54 Amazon e-Gift code is just to tell me this:

“Where are you going for vacation this summer”? Or, if you are not going anywhere what fun things will you do as a stay-cation this summer works just fine too!

Have fun and thanks for reading the blog and playing along each week with SWAG Saturday. Lastly, if you are going somewhere, I hope you are using some travel point cards to make it almost free!- René

Taking my soon to be 95 year old father on a mini San Francisco Bay Area vacation! Staying on top of Nob Hill at the Mark Hopkins Hotel. Playing tourist by visiting the Cable Car Museum (where you can actually see the cables under the city streets), driving down Lombard Street and having a fabulous fish dinner near the water!

  48. Heading to Amsterdam, Calais, Paris and Brussels for 12 days (on miles and points, of course).

  49. No big vacation for me this year, so I’ll be filling the weekends with day trips, hiking and camping in the area.

  50. I just got back from vacation to NYC, with my wife and my stepson. Flew there with low-level rewards, but it took nearly 10 hours to get home this past Wednesday due to technical difficulties by Delta. Originally the trip was to be LGA to MSP, it ended up being LGA to JFK to MSP, with an unexpected layover in JFK of nearly 8 hours. I have filed a complaint and requested additional compensation for the three of us as they offered my wife a $25 voucher and me a $75 Delta Choice presumably because I am a GM.

After that…no other vacations are planned!

The Gulf Coast beckons. One of life’s pleasures . . . to crunch the beautiful white sand beneath my toes on the beaches of Okaloosa Island, part of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. It’s a popular vacation spot for “one-tankers”,those for whom it takes one tank of gas to get there. The hotels and condos in this area drop their prices dramatically around August 10 since Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana families’ depart in preparation for the start of school. The weather, although certainly “warm” cools off in the evening. There are no mosquitos, no flies, and frequent afternoon showers keep it at a pleasant vacation temperature. Best of all, there are those magnificent beaches, now nearly empty, and the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

  150. We went to Atlanta over Memorial Day weekend to catch a baseball game, and will be flying to FCA on July 4th to see Glacier NP-taking advantage of the long weekend. Trying to plan another short trip to Florida before school starts in mid August, but don’t know yet if my wife will be able to take off from work to go.
