Is there a perfect Mileage Run? This one is close IMO. You even get to go have dinner in NYC on the way home (well you do have to overnight but that is what points are for right)! You do have to take a half day off Friday but you are able to collect a (giggle) staggering amount of points all while flying in 1st/business class the whole way. That is a nice way to MR. Here are the numbers:

Cost $1,397 in 1st

21,134 MQMs at 6.5 CPM

Bookable on Delta.com

DM yields an HUGE 38,774 Skymiles per CWSI.net!

EDIT: Also PROMO from DL for Caribbean if you pick included locations! (HT reader Tommy) https://www.delta.com/mypromos/acelanding.action?offer=lacpromo

Look at it this way, if you are a PM or lower and don’t want to MR to your next level in coach, this is the way to do it! 😉

  1. What value will you give to the points you are using for the overnight? $1397 + $$$ = ?

  3. @Nic – you clearly new to MRs. You are NOT spending Skymiles for hotel room. Plus the MQMs are the goal for elite status. Please see tab at top about why mileage run!

  5. Aloha, question … As an AA EXP, if I do a Delta status match challenge, do I meet Delta Medallion status by doing this HNL-BGI MR?

  7. @Rene- Who said you were using skymiles? I just think you need to include your overnight in your CPM calculation. Bloggers are very selective , they highlight the value of points but not so much the cost of points.
BTW – no longer doing MRs, once you start adding gas, parking, meals, overnights etc the CPM runs much higher.
    Good Luck

  9. @Nic – I did mention and overnight was needed in the post. I don’t know who told you bad info but an overnight does not bust a MR. With a few hotel points you can stay free and not seeing the need for food as you are in 1st where all meals are provided. Plus, with lounge access, breakfast is done. Again, you are clearly new to MRs as the goal is the MQMs and this run does this in spades! Don’t need luck – have this board! 🙂

  11. C’mon guys! Take it down a notch. The info is the info. Readers glean what they deem valuable. Then it’s time to move on. Thanks for the blog.
