AMEX has come out with a very nice
50,000 point Delta AMEX card offer after spend. It is open to both the personal and business Delta GOLD and Platinum cards. Should you go for either of them?
First the offers for Gold & Platinum cards:
- AMEX GOLD – Earn
50,000 bonus milesafter you use your new Card to make $1,000 in purchases within your first 3 months and a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months. Offer expires 9/8/14.
- AMEX Platinum – Earn
15,000 Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) and 50,000 bonus milesafter you spend $1,000 on your new Card in your first 3 months. In addition, earn a $100 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months. Offer expires 9/8/14.
☀ The 5
0,000 point Delta AMEX Business Platinum card is NOT MY LINK (i.e this link is NOT an affiliate link)! So YMMV on this one.
Unfortunately AMEX changed the new card bonus on 1MAY to 1x per card holder on personal cards (Must not have had card for 365+ day with BIZ cards). So, if you got the bonus in the past you will likely see something like this when you go to apply:
“You have been identified as a current American Express Card Member. The welcome offer below may not be the same as the offer you saw advertised previously because the other offer you saw is not available to current American Express Card Members. You will not be eligible for the below offer if you have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card account within the last 90 days.”
What card to choose? That is up to you. Casual Delta flyers may feel GOLD is enough but the Platinum, with the MQMs as well as the BOGOF (buy one get one free) is also compelling for many. Either way it is a solid bump compared to the standard Delta AMEX offer! – Rene
