None of these are GREAT deals but all of them are WAY better than the insane buy MQMs from Delta that earn you no Skymiles and are prices to the moon. I would rather spend a day flying and playing. So, to that end, here are a bunch of HUB-ish runs. I say “ish” because we are talking inside 150 miles of your hub. It is crunch time and year end so I am tossing up anything that is tolerable. Most of these are 7-10CPM that would be an OK price in 1st class but we are talking coach. Do keep FlexPerks points in mind for those sub $400. Then again, if you have waited this long, it is going to cost you. Here are a bunch to look at:

atl to lax

cle to lax

cmh to lax

nyc to sfo

rst to lax delta-com

I will later today look at some from SLC & SEA to round out the HUB runs before year end. Also, please keep in mind, you can still get a Delta AMEX Reserve cad for NET $350 after the value of 10k Skymiles and 10k MQMs and that is a cheap run to end the year!- Rene

  1. So what happens to the MQM’s if the return flight from LAX -> ATL is late and lands after midnight?

    • @Wes – scheduled departure time that matters. you can request that route credit worst case!

  5. Did you get a chance to look at some SLC options? Looking for 2,100 miles or more.

  7. Any thoughts on any of the following departure destinations as I need approximately 10k MQM by year end:

    Can easily leave from:

Any NYC airport (JFK, LGA, EWR)
    MCO
    TPA
    JAX
    GNV

Any help would be amazingly appreciated. I know, I’m an idiot and waited until last minute and I know I will pay dearly for it.

Was researching Mileage Runs from SEA.

    ITA Matrix 3.0 uploaded today.

However, you can no longer specify a radius of miles for an airport, and they only give you a small selection of airports within 150 miles, as a fixed option.

Hope they change this…but I noticed in the middle they are promoting Google Flights (since Google bought out ITA Matrix)

  13. Hi Rene,
Frantically chasing platinum status. Got approved to upgrade my delta Gold AMX to Reserve yesterday. How Long will it take to post the 10k MQMs? And – will I for sure get the 10k MQMs since I’ve already been a gold card holder? Getting conflicting answers @ AMX…

    Thanks in advance!

      • Now I’m 9k miles away from Diamond… I applied for and was approved for a Delta Platinum Card, they said I would receive it by Thursday, but it didn’t make it.

I can spend up to $50k before end of year. Does anyone know whether they will credit that spend to my calendar year 2014 spending? I also get the 5K mqm sign up bonus which puts me only 4k mqm away from being diamond. Will that credit for my 2014 activity?

I can also do a mileage run for whatever is remaining. Anyone have any ideas? i can still easily leave from any NYC airport (JFK, LGA, EWR, HPN, PHL) and any north central florida one (MCO, TPA, GNV, JAX)

Is there a consultant or a service I could pay a fee to, to figure this out? A diamond status year would be amazing for me with all my domestic travel.

    • @rene I have good news! I upgraded to delta reserve from gold last week and the 10k MQMs were posted yesterday!!

Now: I need 400 MQMs and 680 MQDs to hit platinum.

Any mileage run suggestions in next couple days? What’s best bang for my $680? I need to book ASAP!

Thank you for all the great tips here!
