2015 delta air lines hoou have one on us drink coupons delta points blog

Last year, that is good old 2014 when there was a Skymiles program worth bragging about, there was something called a HOOU or Have One On Us. The new ones, thanks to reader Noah, look like you see above.

Well, most of us medallions are all a fluster because no matter how HUGE or small our MQM total was, it now reads as ZERO (yikes – but don’t freak out).

In 2014, it was the 14th of January when MQM rollover started. The year before that, 2013, it was on the 3rd. When will it be this year, the famous travel writer Scott Mayerowitz asked today. Well Scott we all want to know.

To that end, I have today redeemed 10,000 Skybous points that give me 10 HOOUs that expire 31DEC15. In honor of the JOY that 50% off round trip awards, a.k.a. one-way awards, started today, I am giving away 50% of them, that is 5 coupons and keeping 5 for myself to get some Woodford if I end up in coach before 1MARCH15 when we get drinks free (they say) in C+ seats. All you have to do is guess the date that rollover will happen. You ONLY get 1 guess (I know we all want HOOUs since Delta left us high and dry for two months). So will it be quicker or slower than last year? BTW, as soon as it begins it will be too late to enter to win the HOOUs. Sounds good? Let the guessing begin! – René

PS – if more than one reader pick the right date, I will use random.org in the order you guessed to pick the winner! Lastly, it is the day when more than just one or two folks see the rollover hit their accounts!

9January. Hope I’m wrong. Would like earlier and I still don’t drink.

  2. Jan 7th…. The IT people get back to “work” on the 5th and I’m sure they are planning on the 5th or 6th but something will go wrong and they won’t get it to work until the 7th…..

I would think the IT guys have it set to go based upon how well the new site has rolled out…and I also think that IT upper management is off till Monday they may not want to pull the trigger if the management guys are off… so I vote for Jan 7 2015 because it will happen Monday midnight

  4. My guess is Jan 8th.

I figure that everyone will get back to work on the 5th, then the IT guys will get in gear on the 6th or 7th, and they will run the batch program starting that night. So they should start showing up on the 8th, but to process everyone might take till the 9th.

  5. What I really want to know is: where are all our MQMs now? Why does it even have to be a slow process when everything else is automated and fast? I imagine a room full of accountant types with little abaci manually counting and recounting all our MQMs to make sure not a single one of those precious miles was awarded in error.

Taking that possible process into account, I guess January 19th.

  8. @dan – Mine rolled over a week ago but my friend’s miles rolled over yesterday. Maybe they roll-over in order of account numbers, or once our mileage statement cycles, or by status, or whatever other weird algorithm they apply. Bottom line: it doesn’t all happen on the same day it seems.

  9. Still have not had mine rollover, anyone else still experiencing the same thing?
