This will NOT last. Yes you have to get to Budapest but then you get to fly the AF A380 in business class to the USA and Alitalia Magnifica on the way back. Not too shabby and a HUGE thanks to reader Darrell for this tip.

There are a number of ways to route this and be sure to check the MQD price to get the USD price vs the Hungarian Forint price. Then pay with say your DELTA AMEX card that does NOT charge an international transaction fee!

Here are the numbers:

Cost $1223 in business class

15,373 MQMs at 8CPM

Bookable on Delta.com

It looks like the lower prices are starting in late April and run all summer long (lowest in July). Hard to pick up this many MQMs at this good a price and try this many SWEET products. Keep in mind NO 24hr cancel as starts outside the USA so be sure you can go before you book!

  1. Tempting but not worth it for me in my current place – DM for 2016 after my spend bonuses for my Reserve card(s) happen. All that without a single flight in 2015 and I leave for Phoenix next week…

Keep posting the 1st class runs Rene and I am sure I will jump on a few just to kill some time. Thanks again!

    • @Graydon – same place. almost called you and said lets do this one and spend a day in Budapest and play in NYC too. Next time.
