As you can see, if you have NO status but live in Washington, Oregon or Alaska and join Skymiles and register you can very quickly jump up to Silver Medallion status with Delta. Then keep flying and it gets better.

six to gold delta points blog

After six trips you are GOLD but after eight you are GOLD and you have earned up to 30,000 Skymiles as well, worth at least $300 if you do Pay with Miles (must have a Delta AMEX card – any of the 3 personal or business).

Now I do agree that Silver is not the status level to be super excited about, but it is WAY better than NO status. Same goes for GOLD as it is a really nice elite level but not what it once was (or even Platinum for that matter). But still GOLD is nothing to ignore and this promotion makes it very simple to earn.

Lastly do keep in mind you will be fending off a BUNCH of Platinums & Diamonds from last year’s round of promotions for the same states! – René

    Boy, oh Boy!

Delta sure is going to make it hard on the PNW Elites out here! The promise of Silver or Gold Medallion status is not the same in realized benefits as it used to be. This is surely just an attempt to steal passengers away from Alaska, not to truly reward anybody in these three states.

I am wondering just how Alaska plans to retaliate now.

  2. lol is like to see some promotions for the east coast!
Why haven’t I seen any promotions on the DL site of late? The las good one was in 2013 , I think re flying to LHR and a great one giving 10,000 MQMs upon reaching Gs status before the end of the year
Sigh are those days over @delta. ?

  3. Once again, no love for Delta flyers on the East Coast.

Wish they would stop giving away status like that. Let’s just pack more people into the program who have done very little to earn the privilege, while the rest of us have to work to get status.

  4. Why is everyone diluting all programs? Delta is trying to overload their Medallion levels. I have over 50 rentals/year with Hertz but now anyone can be Presidents Circle with no effort. In my mind this IS the catalyst to go to other airlines, rental cars, hotels to get some recognition. Stay with one company? Upgrades on flights, NO. Upgrades in hotels, NO. Car upgrades or not having to cross the whole lot to dig your rental out of the snow, NO!! Where does it all go from here?
