“But of course, we strike, it is spring after all” (say that in your best bad French accent please 😉 ). Here we go, there will be off and on for the next 30 days or so strikes by the French air traffic controllers. Thus, you will need to keep CLOSE watch on all your flights in and out of any airport in France.

You can click HERE to see the latest on Delta.com for this round that is valid for free changes from 7-9 April, 2015.

As a reminder, look at ALL the legal routes by searching for tickets from A-B. You may want to add some stops and earn some more MQMs via better routing (SkyMiles earned will NOT change as they are spend based, but MQMS are distance based still). When you find the PERFECT flights, call Delta and have them change you FREE to those.

Also keep in mind you will have more chances to get just what you want if you choose Delta metal. If you are booked on AF or KLM now you can perhaps change over to a Delta flight should you wish. However, even with this waiver, if you are on an award ticket connecting onward to a NON-Delta jet, award space must still be open to change free. Travel safe everyone! – René

  1. It happened to me and my 2 travel companions last June. We were in BE award tickets flying through CGD to Rome. Delta was great and booked us on the non stop to Rome….the flight I really wanted but couldn’t get for a 100,000 points! Viva la France.

  2. Ugh, we are scheduled to depart on the 9th, arrive on the 10th (need need to not be delayed) and they denied request to change to an earlier flight. Hopefully huca will work in the AM.

  3. HUCA worked like a charm!

Thank you for posting about this! Added an extra day to my vacation and got the exact flights I wanted on an award trip. Previous routing was good, but now its prefect!
