lax to cgk delta-com

earning on Garuda Indonesia

lax to cgk mqms

This one is a lot of flying and earning very little for this much time in coach due to Delta partner Garuda Indonesia or GA. I would more look at this as a cheap vacation run as the price can be pushed sub $500 but you are getting very little Delta MQMs for this one (HT to TFD). I will not talk about crediting to Alaska etc as I am all about Delta clearly.

I guess if you have the time, want to do the run, have a night in Japan out and a day on the way back, and still sub 5CPM is not horrid, then yes consider this one. Or, if you stay in Indonesia for say a week. Here is one option:

Cost $451

9,343 MQMs at 4.8CPM

Bookable on Delta.com

This is just not for me but I wanted to get it posted. I would MUCH rather stay domestic for this kind of earnings and I just hate that much time in coach.

  1. Got an error when I tried booking online so had to call Delta. Took a while but they got me booked. $391 for LAX-SEA-HND-CGK-HND-LAX early next year.

Actually, I improved on this route….was up late last night after my EAT-MSP return

    Got SJC-SEA-SIN-CGK-SIN-LAX-SJC
    17,000+ MQM’s
    for $407.60 @ ~2.4 CPM

DL & GA (No earned MQM’s on GA but the SIN routing makes up for it)

  5. I think you’ve fallen victim to delta.dumb not working correctly for you. The reason why you only see ~9000 MQMs there is because the website didn’t count any of the inbound flights (including the DL segments). If you go through the booking process and then click on “Mileage Calculator” and click “Show Details” you’ll see it’s only even giving you credit for 3 segments for the entire trip and that the entire inbound journey is zeroed out for miles. Surely this is an error because you should always earn miles on DL metal and usually if DL sells you the ticket you get full everything, regardless of who operates the flight. So this really has the potential to be almost 2 cpm which is an amazing deal. A REALLY long journey to do in coach tho! ouch!

    • @Taylor – Humm…. and again.. Hummm…. yes you are right-ish. If I go LAX-SEA-HND-SEA-LAX and discount the GA 2 legs I end up with 11,514. John Delta’s one via SIN is still better but yes I see what you mean.
      .
Also as you point out, no way I am doing that far in coach. EVER!
