It is amazing how hard getting a simple promo can be. I mean, I have an “UBER” simple link that all you have to do is click and sign up and we BOTH get $20 UBER credit for your 1st ride. But right now that is not the best offer if you have select Samsung phones with an Uber/Samsung promo that can yield $25 credit for 1st time use.
Please understand that I am not a tech novice (I ran a computer business for 20 years). I am also reasonably familiar with Samsung products (I have owned Samsung tablets & phones just about forever). But the directions on the UBER site to get this $25 promo are just not good at all. If you have a qualifying phone I would simply do this:
Go to your Samsung Apps icon already installed on your phone. Then, once opened up, search for UBER.
You should then see the UBER app at the top of the search list. It is the same UBER app as in the Google play store, but this one should come with the $25 credit for new accounts ONLY (plus you need a qualifying phone).
Once you open the app it should show you that you have a free ride waiting and it “should” be for the $25 promised.
Clearly I am an UBER fan of UBER and the tie-in with AMEX Membership rewards as well as the SPG tie-in. I like using UBER wherever I am when I don’t have a car. I like that they are offering a slightly better deal than the stock $20 one I can provide but gosh I hate it when they make it so hard to get the promo that most I think will give up rather than go for this one the Uber/Samsung way. – René
