Renee,
On the surface it sounds absurd. In the past, I would book a Business Class ticket from New York to some place in Asia. If one segment, say Hong Kong to Shanghai, were not available in Business Class, I would take a Voluntary Downgrade for that segment (if a coach seat were available in the low bucket). Then I would call every once in a while, especially close to the trip and I always was able to get a Business Class seat.
Does YES to NO mean that I will not be able to take a voluntary downgrade?
