In May, just before the Freddie Awards, myself and a bunch of readers spent around 10,000 SkyMiles to take part in a Delta 757 jet pull at Delta TechOps It was a blast (post on the way soon btw from Noah Mark). It was one of my best redemptions and use for SkyMiles EVER!
Now I have once again spent 10,000 points for an amazing redemption (they sold out almost instantly btw). Now let me tell you that SPG points, according to just about everyone who is a travel enthusiast, are some of the most valuable and versatile points you can collect:
or / and
Not only are the cards great for earning points but you get 2 stay credits and 5 nights for EACH card and that can help you earn Gold or Platinum status with SPG. I am personally only a few nights away from re-qualifying for my 2016 Platinum status.
Then there are all the amazing ways to earn SPG points like with Delta’s Crossover Rewards program as well as being able to earn SPG points for all your UBER rides and even double points when you UBER in conjunction with an SPG stay. Talk about #Winning.
And yes, let’s talk about winning. I am a big golf fan. I love to play (when I have time) and each year go somewhere with my buddies and play for days 2-3 rounds a day morning to night. Yep, we are often the first ones on the course and last ones off. Good times! But I also really enjoy seeing the top PGA (and Sr. PGA plus LPGA) professionals do “their thing”. But tickets can be expensive. Not this time for me.
I was fast enough to immediately hit redeem when I found this package pop up on the SPG Moments page for 2 tickets and get:
“[The] luxury of the air-conditioned SPG Suite on the 16th hole [at Whistling Straits]. Enjoy complimentary food and beverages, TV viewing, premium seats and great views.”
Bingo! Score! Yahtzee! Oh yeah, I am super stoked and once again love having redeemed 10,000 points for such an amazing experience.
Bottom line is simply this: SPG points are some of the most valuable travel points we can earn for travel. When you carefully look at other amazing events you can spend them on they can become the stuff that dreams are made of! – René
