AMEX PLAT CREDIT POSTS AGAIN

Phew. Now I told everyone to just be calm. To just wait. Especially when it comes to getting credit for $50 Delta e-Gift cards. I tested a while back and did NOT get credit. I don’t care. I will not call (nor should you – please) or gripe to AMEX about my missing credit. The WORST thing that CAN happen is this amazing perk goes away. It is not like the $50 is worthless as I can spend it. I will now buy 3 more of these before 31DEC on my personal card. Next year I will do the same but have to decide if it will be Delta I choose or AA I choose for credits 😉 But as you can see it is again CONFIRMED working and working fast as well. Enjoy!

UPDATE: Even my charge from weeks ago JUST posted today 12OCT15 🙂

Crystal-Card

Next on to some updates on the amazing Crystal 100k deal. I was shocked, stunned and amazed it did not go viral the first day I posted (congrats to all who read the blog and check it often). Sure, you have to have STELLAR credit to get this card but I would hope most Renes Points readers have that. This deal kinda went sideways. I had full approval to post the deal. But then the bank was a little overwhelmed with responses from outside the states they have branches in (just think if everyone had posted about it). Anyway, it seems that those who DID apply and jump on the deal DAY ONE when I posted will have a shot at the card even if you do live outside of states the bank has branches in. For everyone else, if you DO live in a state the bank has branches in you can just walk in and ask for the offer and get a shot at the card. Basically you are getting well over $1000 in value (maybe as much as $1500) so if you have GREAT credit I think it is worth the effort. I cannot wait to get my card, play with the program, and see how I can get real value actually USING this card as a normal spend card.

hhonors mqms

I just have to muse a bit over the HHonors and Hilton bits this week. First, like with SPG, just about everyone can get GOLD status. Amazing. Just like the Centurion clubs AMEX is being smart and not just sticking with only Delta and SPG. Also, while I do not like this promo because of issues in the past, if you need some MQMs the Hilton 250 promo is live again. Be sure you check your settings or you may not get the points. Then again, even if you DO check your settings you may not get the points so know that. There are better ways to get your needed MQMs = EliteMileageRuns! – René

  2. I applied the very first day. I never heard back from them. Still don’t know if I was approved or not?

  3. Hi, other blogs reported the deal is dead, are you saying if you live in a state with City National (I live in CA) it is still live? Did the bank tell you that?

    Thanks

  4. I went into a City National branch in San Jose. They were not exactly encouraging. They said the card was primarily aimed to their “semi private banking” clients with at least $250K of relationship money at the bank. They said I could apply as part of a more basic package with the bank (just $4K of balances) but suggested the card was not aimed at people with this package. The bank has horrible rates, so I surely wouldn’t recommend parking $250K there just to get the card, although $4K could be fine.

  5. Rene,
You say almost everyone can get Gold HHonors Status. Without a HHonors Amex?? Please explain.
