amex credit from last months charge now posted

Just a real quick post to update you on what you may also be seeing in your own accounts. This past Sunday I confirmed that once again “incidentals” (in my case a $50 Delta e-Gift card) did in fact credit within a few days of the charge as it has for a very long time.

I also posted that:

“I tested a while back and did NOT get credit. I don’t care. I will not call (nor should you – please) or gripe to AMEX about my missing credit. The WORST thing that CAN happen is this amazing perk goes away. It is not like the $50 is worthless as I can spend it.”

Well now I can report that the credit for that charge from weeks ago has also posted to my account. If you had some that were missing I would check if they have shown up yet. If not, let more time go by or just let it go.

Either way this does look good for both the AMEX Platinum and AMEX PRG cards for next year to get credits once again after 1JAN16. Just remember, if you want to change the airline for credit back, do that before you start buying stuff either Delta or otherwise! – René

  1. @rene – I bought a $50 egift card on delta.com a few days ago – the charge is showing up as a passenger ticket. Can Also note the name!

Can I ask how yours was coded in the transaction details of the original $50 charge?
    Thanks

  2. We’ve used ours several times this year on long-haul flights and the credit has shown up usually on the same day as the charge. Never had a problem.

    • @Jes – The issue was for almost 2 months it did not. Now it is working again.
