In Atlanta Concourse D you have two Delta Sky Club choices. You have the “dungeon” near D27 or you have this club called the D12 club, but it is right across from gate D11. This club has some strange features (or lack of features I should say) and it is good they are working on a new D Sky Club.

You can get in with a number of AMEX cards or, if you are a Skyteam elite plus status and are on a coach or anyone on a business class international departing (or connecting) ticket, you can also get in free.

I do not have a photo of the reception desk as a rep was very freaked out about my taking photos. I explained why I wanted them but the rep actually watched while I removed the photos of her at the desk from my phone. Anyway, just to the right of check-in is a small room that had what seemed like the only open seats in the club.

Next as you enter this VERY tiny club, there are storage lockers. They have locks but you cannot lock them and it may be due to the TSA rule that affected the AMEX Centurion lounges systemwide. Also note these lockers all have power outlets inside. This, to me, is convenient but a really bad idea as non-monitored closed in charging of stuff could have bad results.

Across from the storage area you have a standard network connected printer for your needs as well as a shredder. It seems like they ran out of tables as this one was on the floor!

Then we have the club. I just took one photo because this tiny room is the club. That is it. Also be aware there are no facilities in the club so you must exit and reenter the club to use a lavatory.

There is a full service bar with the customary Sky Club complimentary drinks as well as other upcharge choices available. Now on to food choices.

On the window side of the club / room you have light snacks and water and iced tea.

On the other side of the room you have what has become the standard food items for most Sky Clubs, that is, salad, soup and bread as well as other healthy and non healthy treats. I am impressed in such a tiny club they have this many choices.

Many readers tell me this was an old United club and it is only a temporary club until the new D club is completed. I hope this is correct and that once the new club is opened they shut this one down. With so many better clubs to visit in Atlanta, I would use this club only if you are at a gate right next door to the club. – René

  1. Tom beat me to it — this is the old Continental Club — I used to visit it pre-merger days when NW flew out of D I really don’t remember anything special about it — don’t remember any bad things but nothing exceptional either, other than bathrooms being outside. Mostly a last drink and email check before boarding my flight…
