delta cyber monday deal gift cards

Delta all weekend has been advertising to come back to Delta.com today for a deal that folks can not “re-gift”. Well, yes, that is true. Because the Delta T&C says:

“eGifts and Cards are not refundable and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash, check or credit except where refund or redemption is required by law.” – Delta.com

So there would be no way to return them anyway! Plus there is more bad news with these. They do not show up ANYWHERE on your MY DELTA nor do you have the ability to save them on your page. You must hold on to the codes for these gift cards or they are just going to be lost into digital never never land!

However, they do bring up a good reminder for us, that is, those of us who have either the personal or business non-Delta AMEX Platinum cards or the non-Delta AMEX Gold card:

The Platinum Card® from American Express <—LINK

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express OPEN <—LINK

Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express <—LINK

If we have any of these, they qualify for “Airline Fee Credits” each year. The Platinum cards $200 each CALENDAR year (i.e. 1JAN-31DEC) and the Gold card $100 per year.

For each of these cards you MUST register your airline FIRST with the Platinum card as well as with the Gold card before you can get this credit. You only have a month left for this year’s credit. After 1JAN16 you get them again and you can either do nothing and stick with the same airline you picked before or choose a new one.

Since most of us are Delta flyers we can get a bunch of these, $50 at a time, and can combine up to 3 of them on a Delta ticket. Also a nice way to get cheap rebates for either an Elite Delta Mileage Run or a positioning flight to take a cheap run.

So if you have not yet taken advantage of this perk of the cards you hold, do so now. Just, as Delta reminds us, these are NON-REGIFTABLE, that is, non refundable so make sure you save the codes somewhere safe for later use! – René
