I am sure all of you paid close attention to the post I had earlier this month about AMEX card fees. I save, on SYNC and other deals alone, enough to offset most of my card fees. Now I still don’t like paying them and do call for retention bonus (see post E13) for every card I have, but still all these offers help a ton!
Well there is a very targeted AMEX offer right now some of us may have available to us. Only one of my five AMEX cards I currently hold had it as a choice. But what a choice it is. Take a look:
All I had to do is register and spend, including tax etc., a total of $35 on Walmart.com to get $15 back. I did so and the credit pending from AMEX instantly alerted me to the triggered savings.
Now I stacked this deal since it does not include any kind of coupon. Staring at TopCashBack I got almost 10% off <-LINK the base price of the order and that just about wiped out the sales tax part of the deal for me. Not bad at all.
You can even do this for in-store pickup and since I am on my way today to load up some VDGCs to my BlueBird before the month ends ($5,000 max per card per month) I might as well get some every day ordinary stuff I need at almost 50% off normal prices! #Winning – René

Pingback: Targeted Amex Offer – $15 off $35+ at Walmart.com - Frequent Miler
Could happen with any retailer, but I got this offer last year and used it. Walmart then got hacked and someone used my AMEX card to order a bunch of stuff. Initially delivery was to my house, but the perps kept calling FedEx to re-route the package. I only became aware when FedEx called me to say the packages need to be picked up (My reply. What packages? FedEx. The ones that you changed delivery location about 4 times last week, then ask for it to be held at FedEx office [About 2 hours from my house]). I ended up calling Walmart, AMEX, and FedEx to clue them in on what was happening!
A lot of work for $15!

Terms say it “Excludes corporate gift card purchases. Excludes Gift Card Reloads,….”
It seems to me I can order a physical Walmart gift card this way. More flexible than trying to think up $35 of something I need at this moment.
Anyone see a flaw in that?
