Delta has issued two weather alerts for us covering the Rocky Mountain area and Midwest for later in the week. Delta meteorologists are really good so if they are offering a free change, you should seriously consider taking them up on it.

Here is the one for tomorrow 1FEB16 for the Rocky Mountain area:Aspen, CO (ASE)

  • Casper, WY (CPR)
  • Colorado Springs, CO (COS)
  • Denver, CO (DEN)
  • Grand Junction, CO (GJT)
  • Steamboat Springs, CO (HDN)
  • Vail, CO (EGE)

Then, here is the one for Tuesday and Wednesday 2/3FEB for the Midwest:

  • Appleton, WI (ATW)
  • Cedar Rapids, IA (CID)
  • Central Wisconsin, WI (CWA)
  • Des Moines, IA (DSM)
  • Green Bay, WI (GRB)
  • La Crosse, WI (LSE)
  • Lincoln, NE (LNK)
  • Madison, WI (MSN)
  • Minneapolis, MN (MSP)
  • Omaha, NE (OMA)
  • Rhinelander, WI (RHI)
  • Rochester, MN (RST)
  • Sioux Falls, SD (FSD)

As a reminder, look at ALL the legal routes by searching for tickets from A-B before you call Delta (yes call, don’t click stuff). You may want to add some stops and earn some more MQMs via better routing (SkyMiles earned will NOT change as they are spend based, but MQMS are distance based still). When you find the PERFECT flights, call Delta and have them change you FREE to those. If the Delta system has AUTO re-booked you, you can keep them or call and change free to other flights.

Do also keep in mind you will have more chances to get just what you want if you choose Delta metal. If you are booked on AF or KLM you can perhaps change over to a Delta flight should you wish. Again, keep all options open. Travel safe everyone! – René

  1. Thank you so much!! May switch my direct flight on TUES from MSP-NRT to somewhere else… More miles 🙂

  2. What are the chances of my Tuesday Minneapolis to Narita flight being delayed causing DL to rebook me on JAL the next day?
