Hey Atlanta, MUST HAVE MQMS? I love going to DFW via SLC. I don’t love BASIC E class fares as you know you will be stuck in coach but maybe it is worth it to you to get 3 CPM out of ATL?
For me you get some time in the Centurion DFW if you are smart enough to have access via the non-Delta AMEX Platinum personal card or the on-Delta AMEX Platinum business card and then after that on to some BBQ in Dallas before flying home the next day to ATL.
Now the other option is pay more at 5CPM and have a shot at an upgrade. Weekend travel can be a very good time to score upgrades even as a lower elite so keep that in mind.
Anyway here are the numbers in coach E BASCE fare class:
Cost: $158
5,154 MQMs at a stupidly low 3CPM
Bookable on Delta.com via Kayak.com link HERE
TIP look lower in Kayak list for non-E class fares that are upgradeable

NICE CATCH René!
Also available from JFK for $205.20 and 5954 MQMs… 3.4cpm
Seems to apply for First class too from JFK, at 6.6cpm ($591.20 all inclusive)
@Tom – How sweet and thank you so much for sharing! 🙂
.
That is almost worth flying to NYC for 😉
@Tom Was JFK also E class?
@JT- No JFK is U class 🙂
@JT
It was V and X fare classes. The JFK-SLC is lie flat and has 100% availability, so good chances of getting the upgrade confirmed beforehand. Too bad I wasn’t able to find the SLC-JFK in the same plane (the refurbished 757 with lie flats…) only 737 🙁
