Delta has issued a weather waiver day tomorrow for many airports in the Midwest including my home town SBN. Delta meteorologists are really good so if they are offering a free change, you should seriously consider taking them up on it. Our local weather folks are talking about a possible significant ICE event and that is just not fun!
- Chicago, IL-Midway (MDW)
- Chicago, IL-O’Hare (ORD)
- Madison, WI (MSN)
- Milwaukee, WI (MKE)
- South Bend, IN (SBN)
- Peoria, IL (PIA)
As a reminder, look at ALL the legal routes by searching for tickets from A-B before you call Delta (yes call, don’t go click’in on stuff). You may want to add some stops and earn some more MQMs via better routing (SkyMiles earned will NOT change as they are spend based, but MQMS are distance based still). When you find the PERFECT flights, call Delta and have them change you FREE to those. If the Delta system has AUTO re-booked you, you can keep them or call and change free to other flights.
Do also keep in mind you will have more chances to get just what you want if you choose Delta metal. If you are booked on AF or KLM you can perhaps change over to a Delta flight should you wish. Again, keep all options open. Travel safe everyone! – René
