Late to the game but going for 40k IHG points with Accelerate 2016 (nice to be loyalty free)!

i will stay one night to get 40k ihg points 2
40k for 1 stay? Yeah, that works!

Oh sure I normally sign up for all kinds of hotel promotions. I mostly, in the past that is, earned a bunch of SPG points since I have driven my hotel “loyalty dollars” 95% of the time to Starwood properties. But no more since I am now a free agent if you will.

I have really enjoyed having so many IHG points to burn thanks to the IHG postcard extravaganza recently. I also really love 5k Point Breaks nights with IHG and utilize them wherever I can and even had planned a few trips just because of them.

I foolishly have not taken a hard look at the IHG Accelerate 2016 promotion but did register when it first came out (it ends the last day of April this year). But IHG reminded me in email that all I really have to do is stay one single night, at a promotional price i.e. one where I pay a bit more but get some bonus points, and I can with that stay earn over 40,000 bonus points when paying with my Chase   BANK    IHG credit card <-LINK that I will hold till the day I die (or till they change the perks of the card).

40,000 points for the cost of one night is math that works for me. I canceled another reservation I had and made one that will qualify before the promotion is over.

Gosh I love this feeling of not caring about hotel status anymore and just booking nights that get me the most points back! Have you earned bonus points yet for the IHG Accelerate 2016 promo? – René
