I have to say, it is kinda weird walking into AA clubs. I have all my Delta “bling” that is, my old computer bag that I have been dragging around for much of my 1 million miles with Delta has seen better days. Even my favorite Delta Welcome Aboard sicker is about to bite the dust (sad face even thinking about it)!
But the very friendly reps at check-in (each at their own podium vs long Delta desks) warmly welcomed me to the club and mentioned briefly where stuff was. Let’s first walk left into the club.
Much like at check-in there were more customer service podiums but with not that many folks at the club this early it seemed one rep was helping with issues and the other checking folks in.
The club is basically a long box with a curve. Left of entrance you have a spacious seating area with nice AVgeek views. Seats were comfortable with power between the seats.
Also this way there is a room for desk work with two for personal laptops and two computers for use. Personally I would rather have more open space as I know of few who need to “borrow” a computer nowadays. Maybe I am in the minority, you tell me.
At the far end of the room was a quiet room that looked like a nice place and it was as far as you can get from the food service area. If I had a longer layover this would have been a nice place to put my headphones on and enjoy.
Moving back now to the right from check-in is a bar and food service area. The breakfast items were Sky Club comparable but I did like the larger juice glasses. I like a tall glass of OJ vs the mini ones you get in the Sky Club by default (I know you can ask for a large glass but if feels funny to me).
I would have liked to have checked out the club later in the day and look forward to seeing the lunch service options on my next visit to this club.
While I absolutely LOVE the above photo I took (it could be in an AA advertisement, right) I am not a fan of the “mushroom” type tables they have. The large footprint of the table that narrows at the top is most uncomfortable. I found myself stubbing my toes often.
But that did not take away from an enjoyable continental type breakfast at this Admirals Club.
But for those like me that just love to drink in the views when traveling, this club offered that nicely and it was fun to see all the old and new AA jets and paint jobs (they seem kinda slow on converting them all over or?).
Overall I really liked this club. It was bright, modern, clean, well stocked and had a helpful and friendly staff. Not that I was expecting anything less but at the same time fun to see and experience a day with AA including this very nice club! – René
