Time to look at a few headlines that caught my attention this past week as 2016 draws to a close with a few comments as well.

  • USA Today tells us: “DOT fines American Airlines $1.6M for tarmac delays“. When are airlines going to learn it is just NOT OK to let us sit on planes for 3+ hours and not go back to the terminal. This is one of the few things that would make me really crazy if Delta happened to do it to me.

  1. I don’t think Delta should be praised for making changes (like diversity training) that they should have already have.

    I suppose it sounds nice, but as a black man, it is maddening that on almost every flight I take I must experience the internal biases of delta employees. I get “reminded” alot that “this is for medallion members” and “we are only boarding first class”.

    I just don’t see how we can praise someone for finally doing what they are supposed to do.
