So the new medallion year has begun (as of 1FEB18) and we are well on our way for earning our 2019 elite Delta medallion status (for those who care anymore, that is). I myself have finished over 50k in the air (and a bunch on the water too) and looking forward-ish to some partner flying over the next few months to knock out all my MQD spend via distance flown – it feels so retro! But before we wrap up Q1 of 2018 let’s see what interesting bits happened in February shall we?:

➥ Changes to LAX T3 club, No – the Delta Spa is not free, Death of Delta Assist? & more news!

➥ The Wings Lounge Review Manila MNL Airport – Massage, showers & more available 24 hours a day.

➥ My wish list of tiny things I really want Delta to fix. These are minor issues that just make me nuts. Agree?

➥ Ridiculous, inappropriate or just plain wrong phonetic alphabet to try next time you call an airline? (Then again, maybe not).

➥ Delta’s BIGGER problem than ESAs i.e. Emotional Support Animals – MEGA carry-on bags!

➥ “I AM GOING TO CALL THE POLICE!” – My check-in welcome at the Marriott Resort Grand Cayman!

➥ An update from the Marriott Beach Resort Grand Cayman – A personal apology and more!

➥ The oddities of my VPN when traveling – What works and what is kinda wonkie!

➥ This may be the best Delta First Class meal I have ever had! Sausage with German Potato salad, sauerkraut and more!

➥ Can sticking a Delta Diamond “Brag Tag” on your bag get you more perks? Or, is this just pompous showing off of your status?

➥ Taking an Aeromexico or Skyteam / Delta Elite Mileage Run? Take steps to ensure you get your SkyMiles / MQMs / MQDs as planned!

➥ Does it help your Delta upgrade chances to split a reservation in 2018?

I am both happy and sad to see February go. It was interesting to say the least and I can not wait to get blogging about all of my adventures and the neat little bits I have to share with you in the coming weeks! – René
