UPDATE: All is AOK it seems! If you do not get full points let me know in comments below for a fix!

Start at TCB to save $16 <-LINK
If you have never done a partner run – you are missing out. But you also have some catching up to do. These are fun, nice, often in business class, but it takes a bit to MAKE SURE you do get full credit as promised on Delta.com. So read the following posts please:
- Warning: Delta / AeroMexico Points Earnings Rates NOT being honored (unless you escalate your case)!
Next, once you have it booked and can see the PNR on AeroMexico and can choose seats – be sure to follow the advice in the post above as well as at check-in. You simply MUST see your Delta number on the boarding pass and have a copy of it to save (i.e. be ready for a fight to get your points)!
Now that you get it the step are this. Start at TopCashBack <-LINK and search for JustFly. You get $16 back on international tickets. Then use the open dates shown above for the deal (or another OTA of your choice like Amex travel, etc). Here are the results for an “I” class fare:
Cost: Net $844 after TopCashBack $16 credit
Base earnings i.e. distance: 8098 Miles flown
SkyMiles earned: 16196 base (+ elite bonus Diamond – 120%; Platinum – 80%; Gold – 60%; Silver – 40%)
Elite MQMs earned: 12147 (150% of base distance)
Elite MQDs earned: $3239 (40% of the base distance)
Bottom line this is a great way if you are short of MQMs and or MQDs to score a bunch in a hurry and all of it in business class. Any of this too much? My friend ADAM and his team can help you book these fast!

Hi Rene,
I’m clicking on Friday Dec 7th for the departure date and Sat Dec 8th keeps coming up? What to do? Thanks for the great tip.
Mark
Boy this brings back memories; flight attendant talking with the captain during the flight with the cabin door wide open; very uncomfortable seats; questionable food; etc…but the miles were sweet! I think we got over 12 MQMs for right at $100. Quito is a very neat city to visit…but don’t forget your hat if you plan to stay for a while!
Found a first class Z fare on Delta.com but it only shows Delta Flight numbers and only 685 MQDs earned
8929Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) earned
7535 Miles earned
685 Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) earned
Can you book these on Delta or do you need to book these on Aeromexico’s web site
@Andrew – As shown in post – DO NOT book on Delta.com. You can not find the fare on AeroMexico site. Use JustFly (via TopCashBack – again, see above).
@René,
Is there a link for TopCashBack where you will get credit for us joining?
I so almost pulled the trigger on this. I have a Plat Business Amex and it was $868 on Amex’s travel site. Using Pay with points of 86,800 would have gotten 30% credit (26,040) for a purchase price of 60,760 points. Then you get 5x points for paying with points (I think) which is 4,340. Would have had to reposition from FLL. That was $249 RT and I would have used PWM, as I have DL Plat Amex. So this would have been 25,000 skymiles.
Since I only needed 2k MQMs to maintain my Gold, I opted to do a RT of FLL-LAX for $328 (30k Skymiles and $28 cash). I go and come back the same day. I couldn’t give up the time to do the AM one above.
I had originally gotten the DL Bus Reserve Amex to get the 10k MQM and 70k bonus miles after 5k spend in first 90 days, but have decided to hold that until Jan1 to pay my property taxes. That will give me 6.5k in spend and 10k MQM. Then I will only need another 24k in spend for the 15k MQM bonus. That will automatically give me silver status for 2020 and 3k MQMs carry over from my trip to LAX, so only need to fly 27k to keep Gold.
I will look at the Mileage runs for next year and maybe take the GF and extend it by a couple of days and enjoy the destination instead of just seeing the airport.
@Greg G – Yes. My TopCashBack link is http://www.RenesPoints.com/TCB
Completed this mileage run this weekend. Super smooth. Thank you for sharing this tip!! Also saw someone else on my flight doing the same thing.
Stayed at the Wyndham at the Quito Airport – very convenient.
Now I just have to keep an eye out for the MQM/MQDs to post on Delta.
@shansimp – Sweet. Be sure to save those boarding passes with paid “I” fare on them (and with your SkyMiles number on it). Let me know how the points post!
