First class runs always cost more but you earn more MQMs and do not have to worry about upgrades. Also, many want a mileage run to be as quick as possible. The above is not quick. In fact it is more a vacation run as you are taking about a week off to do this one. But you know a week in the sun in the beginning of November is not bad. Plus, some sun will prevent sunburn with you are up skiing on the Wasatch front right?

If you would rather have a faster run I did find one date in the beginning of December and it is not bad either but pushing 10CPM (I like 8CPM or lower for 1st class / biz runs fyi and 4CPM or lower in coach). This one you red-eye out Friday night, spend part of Saturday and all of Sunday in San Juan and fly home all day Monday i.e. just one day off work is not bad and mostly two days in the sun rocks!
Here are the numbers:
Cost in Delta 1st class November run $870
10,805 at 8 CPM

Question on a run to capture MQDs — I can book an AF round trip flight – MIA-CDG-DXB. Cost $3707 on the Delta site as a Delta flight on AF and $3735 directly through AF on the AF site. Delta notes $3554 MQDs but if I book through AF as a Z class fare at 40% of the miles flown it appears that I can get actually get $6278 MQDs (,4 x 15696 miles). Is my evaluation correct? Almost double the MQDs by simply booking directly through AF?
