Want to start Amazon Prime Days primed with an extra $50 Amazon credit?

Amazon is running four promotions and each rewards $10 to Amazon customers. (One of the specials gives you the opportunity to score an extra $10. More on that in a minute.)

(If you’re not yet among the converted, try Amazon Prime free for 30 days. In addition to the two-day (and sometimes same-day!) shipping on many items, you have access to great movies, TV shows, and a couple million songs.)

Amex Membership Reward Discount

Save 20% on Amazon purchases when redeeming American Express Membership Rewards. Activate this special offer right now!

Amazon American Express Membership Rewards 20% discount offer.

Because Amex Membership Rewards points are so valuable, I generally apply only one MR point to Amazon purchases with these discounts. Using just one MR point should still trigger the 20% discount.

So if you hold a Platinum Card from American Express (learn more here), Business Platinum Card from American Express OPEN (learn about this card), American Express Gold Card (learn about this card), or American Express Business Gold Card (learn about this card), use one of those cards for at least one big purchase and save 20%!

Which Credit Card Will You Use?

Did you recently took advantage of the Delta Amex (or a different credit card) welcome bonus specials? Need to meet MQM bonus requirements on a Delta Platinum (learn more) or Delta Reserve (learn more) credit card? Have a great cash back card that will save you even more money? Remember you earn 6% cash back on streaming services — like Amazon Prime Video — when using the Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express (learn more about this card).

Excited to Start Shopping?

If you’re really itching to buy something, Amazon is running a few early specials right now.

    • @Greg – I use Android and link is in the post to the Play Store and I can confirm it is there and is working.

Tried the link and received a message that the offer is not available to me. I have Amex Delta Platinum

  2. 20% Amex MR offer still good, just grabbed it. What are the qualifying categories? Not seeing that anywhere.

    • @Reed: usually it’s products sold and fulfilled by Amazon (i.e. no third party, but stranger things have happened).

  3. Chris,

Is it possible to put your name at the top of the post and Rene’s when he writes? Maybe under the date. I don’t know why but I like to know who’s writing that day.
    Thanks.

    • @JohnHace: I’ll look into adding a byline — good idea, thank you.

Rene is very good about signing his name to each post he writes. I’m supposed to be, as well! Thanks for the reminder and for reading!
