Not everywhere (especially Southwest planes 😉 ) offers convenient charging options for our tablets, phones, and other gadgets. That’s why compact and versatile portable chargers are essential for every traveler.
Amazon Prime Day has a number of good portable chargers/external batteries on sale.
Anker‘s PowerCore 20100mAh – Ultra High Capacity Power Bank with 4.8A Output (pictured above) is the external battery I personally own (and love). It simultaneously charges both my iPad and iPhone — quickly juicing them up. Several times over.
The PowerCore 20100mAh‘s black model is a Prime Day special: it’s $30.79 price tag reflects a nearly 40% discount from it’s $49.99 price. Other colors are available — but $25 more expensive. It also comes with an 18-month warranty (which might be doubled depending on which credit card you use to pay). My only gripe about this external battery is its weight: nearly 13 oz.
That being said, the weight is a fair trade for the PowerCore 20100mAh power boost.
A More Powerful Option — for Less
If you’re a two phone, two tablet household (like my wife & me), this charger is perfect.
The Kenruipu 24000mAh Portable Charger Battery Pack also fashions itself as fairly stylish: the device is partly covered by Leatherette so it is “soft and comfortable.” I really like this device’s LCD power meter, which clearly and accurately displays how much power remains in the battery. No more bank of blinking lights giving you only a vague idea of how much juice is left.
Another Device – But With More Inputs and Fewer Outputs
Like the Kenruipu 24000mAh Portable Charger Battery Pack, HuaF’s Power Bank Portable Charger 24000mA features an LCD battery meter. And ninety-four percent of people reviewing it on Amazon gave the device 5 stars.
Travel Surge Protector with USB Ports — Amazon Lightning Deal
While not an external battery, HITREND‘s travel Power Strip Surge Protector 3 AC Outlets with 3 USB Ports is a great way to simultaneously charge a laptop (or three) and up to three devices. This deal ends around 7:30 PM Eastern Time, so snatch it up if you’re interested.
Which Will You Buy?
And as far as I’m concerned, one can’t have too many travel surge protectors.
