Wow. Parts of the Eastern Seaboard just can’t catch a break. There were storms last week. Then searing heat this weekend. Now, storms are again taking aim at parts of the northeast.
“By Monday afternoon, thunderstorms in these regions are expected to cause Air Traffic Control ground stops and delays up to three hours in some cases,” Delta says, “and the airline’s connection carriers had canceled more than 130 total flights, with more likely as ground stops lead to crew duty time constraints.”
Ouch.
With that, Delta has issued a weather waiver valid only today, July 22 for the following airports:
New York Metro Area
- Kennedy (JFK)
- LaGuardia (LGA)
- Newark (EWR)
- Newburgh (SWF)
- White Plains (HPN)
Philadelphia
- Philadelphia (PHL)
Washington, D.C.
- Baltimore (BWI)
- Washington Dulles (IAD)
- Washington Reagan (DCA)
Passengers with travel involving these airports may make one-time changes without being assessed a change fee.
Tickets must be reissued on or before Thursday, July 25. Rebooked travel must also begin no later than Thursday, July 25.
Remember these tips to help you save time (and some sanity) when trying to rebook.
