The Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express.Learn more about the Delta Reserve Card from American Express at https://renespoints.boardingarea.com/dlres
The personal Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express is offering an increased MQM bonus for the next week. However, the offer is available only through referrals from current Reserve cardholders. Already hold the card? You can earn a SkyMiles bonus for referring someone!

Here are the details:

New Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express (learn more) cardholders will earn 10,000 bonus MQMs after spending $5,000 within the first three months of being approved. Amex currently offers only 5,000 MQMs on their website.

If you need to achieve or requalify Delta elite status for next year and don’t already hold a Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express, consider taking advantage of this offer.

Plus, new cardholders who meet the minimum spend requirement will also receive 75,000 bonus SkyMiles. Because each dollar spent on the Reserve card earns one SkyMile, that brings the total to 80,000 SkyMiles! Given that Delta seemingly values SkyMiles at a penny each, that makes this offer worth $800.

On top of that, new cardholders receive a $100 statement credit after making a Delta purchase within the first three months of being approved. Remember: the Delta purchase can be for $2 headphones onboard — netting a cool $98 savings!

This offer is valid through July 31.

For what it’s worth the Business Flavor has a similar welcome bonus that requires a $6,000 minimum spend.

Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express Card Benefits

You’ll earn 2 miles for every dollar spent on eligible purchases made directly with Delta. And one mile for every eligible dollar you spend on purchases.

Plus, achieve or boost your Delta Elite Medallion status with 15,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) and 15,000 bonus miles after you spend $30,000 in eligible purchases on your card in the calendar year. Spend another $30,000 on the card within the same calendar year and you’ll receive another 15,000 MQM bonus and 15,000 SkyMiles bonus.

Enjoy one domestic First Class/Delta One, Delta Comfort+® or Main Cabin round-trip companion certificate each year upon renewal of your card.

Don’t pay for snacks or drinks in airports. Seriously. Stop. Enjoy complimentary Delta Sky Club admission and bring up to two guests for $29 per person per visit.

Enjoy complimentary admission to Delta Sky Clubs — such as the new club in Austin!

Purchases onboard Delta flights (think premium snacks, adult beverages, headphones) will receive a 20% statement credit.

Main Cabin 2 who? Main Cabin 3 what? Don’t worry. You’ll receive Main Cabin 1 Priority Boarding whenever you’re booked into the Main Cabin.

Stop paying for most — or all — of your checked luggage on Delta flights! Your first checked bag — and those of up to eight other passengers on the same itinerary/PNR — are free.

The annual fee is $450. In our opinion, the Sky Club access and First Class BOGOF can easily offset that cost.

How You Can Refer Someone — And Earn 20,000 Bonus SkyMiles

As I mentioned, this offer is currently available by referral only. Current cardholders can refer friends and family by logging on to AmericanExpress.com, navigating to the Delta Reserve account page, and select the “Refer Now” button.

Referring cardholders will receive 20,000 bonus SkyMiles for each new member referred. A maximum of 55,000 bonus SkyMiles can be earned. (It would be nice if Amex and Delta would kick the number up to an even 60,000…)

  1. @Rajat Aggarwal: If you need MQM to earn or maintain elite status with Delta, I would. It also serves as a tie-breaker (after status and fare class) for upgrades. My dad said his upgrades increased after he got his Reserve card. I hold an Amex Platinum (for now) simply for the benefits (Uber, airline incidentals, Centurion Lounges, Saks, and Priority Pass. The SkyMile value on this sign up is worth $800 — so even if you kept the card for a year and canceled, you’d still come out about $350 (SkyMiles-wise) ahead. FWIW, there’s also a good offer for the Delta Platinum card I’ll write about Thursday.

  2. Thanks I used your link. Approved and they sent my new card overnight UPS.

  3. Can you gift the sign up bonus MQMs to someone?
