As Hurricane Dorian works its way up the East Coast, so do Delta Air Lines’ travel weather waivers.
Newport News (PHF) and Norfolk (ORF) were issued weather waivers and capped fares due to the storm.
The waiver affects Delta-marketed flights involving PHF and ORF on September 6 & 7. Tickets must be reissued by September 15, with rebooked travel commencing no later than September 15, as well.
See the weather waiver for more details and conditions. And learn about how Delta weather waivers work in general.
“Delta also extended its capped fares to include Newport News and Norfolk, Va. to and from the range between $286 and $586 in the Main Cabin and $486 and $786 in the forward cabin, based on mileage,” Delta said in a statement. “Fares may be slightly higher in connect markets from those same cities through Sept. 7.”
Flights Suspended at Several Airports
Flights from the below airports have been suspended (per Delta) but should be back up and running Friday.
- Brunswick (BQK)
- New Bern (EWN)
- Wilmington (ILM)
- Charleston (CHS)
- Hilton Head (HHH)
- Myrtle Beach (MYR)
Delta noted they’re positioning aircraft originally scheduled to overnight in the above cities to locations where they won’t suffer any of Dorian’s wrath.
