Hey, buddy? Ya need tickets?
Delta and Ticketmaster are running a promotion this week offering SkyMiles members 5 miles per eligible dollar spent through Delta’s Ticketmaster “portal” (for lack of a better term).
The offer ends Friday, October 25.
If you want to see college or pro sports or maybe buy tickets for a holiday concert, this might be a good option for you to consider.
Good to Know
- Miles are awarded based on ticket prices.
- Taxes, facility, service, parking, insurance, and other fees don’t count.
Also, SkyMiles members are now capped as to how many miles they can earn with Ticketmaster purchases. Members can earn up to 2,500 miles per month
Not a Bad Deal — This Week
Delta and Ticketmaster announced an ongoing promotion this summer, which awards SkyMiles members one mile per buck spent on Ticketmaster purchases.
When this promotion ends, though, you’re probably better off using Rakuten or TopCashBack to earn cash back for your Ticketmaster purchases.
Best Credit Cards to Use
Just because you link from a Delta website doesn’t mean you’ll earn any travel or airline bonuses on your credit cards.
Instead, use a card earning at least 1.5% back on every purchase. We wrote about several, but a few to keep in mind are:
- Chase Freedom Unlimited® Card (no annual fee)
- Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Card (learn how to apply for this no annual fee card)
- Anything you’re using to reach a welcome bonus
For what it’s worth, each of the three above cards currently offers $150 back when you spend $500 during the first three months your account is open.
