Two denominations of Delta Air Lines gift cards are discounted by 10% right now at Costco.com. The $500 Delta gift cards are on sale for $449.99.  $1000 denominations currently run $899.99.

Gift cards generally don’t count trigger cashback through portals, though stranger things have happened. Consider starting your shopping session at TopCashback, searching for Costco, and going from there.

Remember that flights purchased with Delta gift cards earn MQM, MQS, MQD, and SkyMiles. They can be nice ways to save money while earning full miles and Medallion qualifiers.

Costo.com accepts only Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and JCB. (No American Express, unfortunately.)

Just want to be clear – simply buying the gift cards doesn’t actually earn you MQD, right? You actually have to fly using the gift card to pay for the flight in order to earn.

  2. Thanks Chris. I just purchased three of the $500 gift cards.

BTW, in January of 2018 I purchased a ticket for $454.60, with $200 paid using four $50 gift certificates and $154.60 going on a non-Delta AMEX Platinum card. The $154.60. was covered by the airline fee reimbursement. Next year I am going to try using gift certificates to get within $100 of the ticket price to see if the AMEX fee reimbursement will kick in, as it looks like it does sometimes using pay using miles.

On a different subject, it looks like The Club opened another lounge at SJC across from gate A8, which closer to the Delta gates. I look forward to visiting this weekend.
