Looking for 100,000 bonus Membership Rewards points?

OFFER EXPIRED: Please see current offer.

Today’s the final full day to take advantage of the Business Platinum Card from American Express‘ limited time offer awarding new applicants at least that much when they spend $25,000 within the first three months of card membership. (There are some options that may be more affordable for others — read on.)

The welcome offer breaks down like this:

  • Receive 50,000 bonus MR after you spend $10,000 within the first three months
  • Receive an additional 50,000 MR after spending $15,000 more during the first three months.

Plus, because you’re dropping $25,000 and earning (at least) a point per buck, that’ll bring in another 25,000 MR.

Long story short: spend $25,000 within 90 days of being approved and get 125,000 Membership Rewards points.

Rene’s Points readers know I’m a big fan of the Amex Business Platinum card. I love, love, love the 35% Membership Rewards point rebate when paying with points through Amex Travel. (That benefit applies to coach purchases on one select airline and first class purchases on any airline.)

American Express Centurion Lounge at DFW

The airline incidental credit is also a nice perk, as is the great airport club lounge access. (Delta Sky Club, American Express Centurion Lounges, Priority Pass Select, Escape Lounges)

The Business Platinum Card from American Express carries a $595 annual fee.

Other Business Cards to Consider

Are the high annual fee and $25,000 minimum spend requirement a little stiff for your taste? Most other business cards offer much better bonus point categories — for significantly less or no annual fee. (Though they don’t offer the bells and whistles of the Amex Business Platinum card.)

The Chase Ink Business Preferred card

Chase Ink Business Preferred Card

  • 80,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points after $3,000 spend within the first three months. (Far easier to swallow than the Amex Business Platinum’s $25,000 requirement!)
  • 3X on the first $150,000 combined annual spend on travel, shipping, internet-cable-phone, social media and search engine advertising purchases.
  • 1X on all other purchases
  • $95 annual fee

Chase Ink Business Cash Credit Card

Chase Ink Business Cash CardNo Annual Fee!

  • Earn $500 bonus cash back after spending $3000 within the first three months
  • 5% cash back on first $25,000 combined annual spend at office supply stores and internet-cable-phone
  • 2% cash back on first $25,000 combined annual spend at gas stations and restaurants
  • 1X cash back on all other purchases
  • No annual fee

As I wrote a few weeks ago, a great 1-2 punch is holding the Chase Ink Business Preferred Card and Chase Ink Business Cash Card. For only $95 in annual fees, you receive fantastic Ultimate Rewards and cash back options.

American Express Blue Business Cash Card

American Express Blue Business Cash CardNo Annual Fee!

  • Earn 2% cash back on all eligible purchases on up to $50,000 per calendar year.
  • After that, earn 1%.
  • No annual fee
