Drumroll, please!

Chase announced its 2020 Q1 5% bonus cash back categories today for the awesome, no annual fee Freedom card.

They are:

  • Gas stations
  • Select streaming services (DoC says these included Netflix, Hulu, Sling, Vudu, FuboTV, Apple Music, SiriusXM, Pandora and Spotify the last time this category was bonused. I’m willing to bet Disney+ and AppleTV+ also code for 5%)
  • Internet, cable, and phone services

Chase Freedom card holders who register (starting Sunday, December 15) will receive 5% cashback on the first $1500 in combined spend on those categories from January 1 to March 31, 2020.

Using your credit card at a gas station is a great way to knock out spend!

Chase Freedom Card: A No-Brainer

The Chase Freedom card is a product I highly recommend — simply because of the quarterly bonus categories and the fact there’s no annual fee. (It’s one of the cards in my wallet right now.)

If a specific quarterly bonus doesn’t interest you, simply put the card in your proverbial or actual sock drawer until something strikes your fancy.

Plus, Chase Freedom actually earns Ultimate Rewards — which can be converted to statement credit, cashback, or gift cards.

Or even better: combine them with Chase Sapphire Reserve‘s Ultimate Rewards points and redeem them for 1.5 cents each through Chase’s travel site. Or the Chase Sapphire Preferred at 1.25 cents per.
