Air France is running a great gift card deal right now: get a $25 bonus when you spend $150 or $50 when you buy $300 worth.

UPDATE: Reader Genise reported that Air France is bonusing only $25 on $300 gift cards. I received the same result when I tried. Perhaps the way around it is through purchasing two $150 gift cards.

A limited amount of bonused gift cards are available.

Air France gift cards work for flights operated by the following airlines (but must be booked through Air France):

  • Air France (duh)
  • Delta
  • KLM
  • China Eastern
  • Alitalia

This is a good opportunity to save a few bucks on Delta travel. (Though you’ll have to book through Air France) And if you mileage run on Air France, KLM, China Eastern, or Alitalia, this can make your travels a bit cheaper — while still reaping mega MQD.

Gift cards are valid for one year.

Thanks to reader Chuck L. for the heads-up!

  1. I’d imagine that buying with a DL cc is not bonussed by Amex. Maybe CSR is better if purchase is directly from AF.

  2. When I try to buy a $300 gift card it only displays the message on checkout: “Gift card amount: $325.00” !

My experience mirrors what you cited. I purchased 2 gift cards, 2 days apart, at $150 each and received the $25 promotion with each purchase. I reading the fine print, I see that the $50 lump-sum promotion is available when opening and funding an Air France Money Pool. That could work, too, but would be somewhat less flexible than gift cards.
