Delta Air Lines announced today it’s suspending flights to Milan, Italy, due to the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
The daily service operates between New York JFK and Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP).
Delta said its final JFK to Milan flight departs tomorrow, Monday, March 2. The last flight from Milan to JFK leaves on Tuesday, March 3.
JFK to Milan service is scheduled to resume May 1.
The announcement comes just after the US State Department raised Italy to Level 3/Reconsider Travel status. In fact, two of the country’s cities, Lombardy and Veneto, were given Level 4/Do Not Travel warnings because of “the level of community transmission of the virus and imposition of local quarantine procedures.”
Delta currently has fee-free change waivers in effect for all of Italy and Seoul, South Korea. The airline previously announced the temporary suspension of flights to/from China and MSP to ICN.
