Delta Air Lines made a big addition to yesterday’s announcement.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, some international trips booked on or before March 1 are now subject to fee-free changes. (Though fare differences may apply.)
Here’s the rub: the impacted travel dates are March 1 – March 31.
Tickets must be reissued on or before May 31, with rebooked travel commencing no later than May 31, as well.
This is an interesting game of chicken Delta is playing with coronavirus. At first, yesterday’s announcement seemed like a sales ploy designed to drive folks to purchase international travel this month. Maybe some people were understandably confused with the announcement, perhaps Dick Blumenthal’s letter persuaded Delta, maybe a combination of both (or neither)?
